Two theft cases have been solved by Ganderbal Police; livestock (sheep) worth lacs has been recovered, and three accused have been arrested.

𝗚𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗥𝗕𝗔𝗟, Sep 13(PTK): Ganderbal Police has achieved a major breakthrough by solving 02 livestock theft case within days, recovering stolen property (Sheep) worth lacs and arrested 03 accused persons involved in the crime.

On 08.09.2025 and 11.09.2025, PS Kheerbawani and PS Kangan received seperate written complaints from Jalal-ud-din S/O Abdul Salam R/O Kokagund Sehpora and Wahid Ahmad (Bakerwal) S/O Haji Noorani R/O Chadrakote A/P Hayan Kangan stating that during the intervening night of 03/04 and 05/06 of 2025, unknown thieves trespassed into their cowsheds at Kokagund Sehpora and Hayan Palpora and stole 37 Sheep.

Accordingly, Case FIR No.s: 31 and 63 of 2025, under relevant sections of law were registered at PS Kheerbawani and PS Kangan and investigation was taken up.

Acting promptly and under the directions of 𝗦𝗦𝗣 𝗚𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗵𝗿𝗶 𝗞𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗹 𝗔𝗵𝗺𝗮𝗱 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘄𝗮𝗹-𝗝𝗞𝗣𝗦, a special police teams were constituted under the supervision of Dy.SP Hqrs Ganderbal and SDPO Kangan led by SHO PS Kheerbawani Gulzar Ahmad and SHO Kangan Lateef Ahmad. Through strenuous efforts and with the assistance of technical inputs, the Police team led by SHO Kheerbawani apprehended one suspect, Shabir Ahmad Bhat S/O Ghulam Qadir Bhat R/O Arigoripora Kangan.

On sustained questioning, the accused disclosed that he had purchased 06 stolen sheep from Momin Bashir Ganie @ Sahil S/O Bashir Ahmad R/O Gundi Mohalla Sehpora, along with Basit Bashir S/O Bashir Ahmad and Hilal @ Huzaib R/O Pehlipora Safapora near Dumping Park, Kangan. On his disclosure, 06 sheep were successfully recovered and Shabir Ahmad was arrested.

Further, accused Momin Bashir was also apprehended, based upon discloser of accused person admitted one vehicle bearing registration No.JK04D-0256 also recover.

Moreover, Police Party of PS Kangan led by SHO Kangan apprehended one accused Gh Nabi Dar S/O Mohd Akbar Dar R/O Ruhama Pulwama in Pulwama and 15 stolen Sheep were recovered from his possession.

Altogether, 03 accused persons in the 02 instant cases have been arrested and are in police custody. More arrests and recoveries are expected.
