Two Militant Associates Detained Under PSA in North Kashmir, Police Say

Sopore Police have taken decisive action against individuals associated with militant activities in North Kashmir. Ikhlaq Imtiyaz Sheikh from Watergam, Rafiabad, and Irfan Farooq Zargar from Soin Sadnar, Rafiabad, have been booked under the Public Safety Act (PSA).
The decision to detain them follows formal orders from the competent authority, highlighting their involvement in anti-national activities. Both individuals have a history marked by multiple FIRs, indicating their association with activities posing a threat to the state’s security.
To curb any potential threats posed by these individuals, they have been transferred to District Jail Kupwara and District Jail Anantnag. This action underscores the authorities’ commitment to maintaining peace and security in the region.
A police spokesperson emphasized the necessity of such measures, stating that it is essential to prevent individuals with documented involvement in anti-national activities from further jeopardizing the state’s security.
