Transformative Investments in Railway Connectivity Unveiled by PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for railway projects totaling over Rs 85,000 crores. Lt Governor Manoj Sinha hailed this as a significant milestone for enhancing connectivity across various states and Union Territories.

The inauguration ceremony witnessed the unveiling of several key initiatives, including the inauguration of the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendra (PMBJK) at Srinagar railway station. This initiative is poised to provide passengers with access to high-quality medicines at affordable prices, while also creating livelihood opportunities within the community.

Under the banner of ‘One Station One Product’ (OSOP), stalls have been established at multiple locations, offering artisans from marginalized sections additional avenues for income generation. These stalls not only showcase the rich heritage of their respective regions but also align with the ‘Vocal for Local’ and ‘One District One Product Campaign,’ thus promoting indigenous crafts and products.

Furthermore, the unveiling of the Gati Shakti Terminal at Samba and the Rail Coach Restaurant at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra railway station underscores the government’s commitment to modernizing transportation infrastructure. The Gati Shakti Terminal is expected to play a pivotal role in facilitating the seamless movement of goods across the region, thereby boosting regional connectivity and trade.

Overall, these initiatives mark a significant step towards realizing the vision of a well-connected and prosperous India, with railways playing a central role in driving economic development and empowering local communities.
