Tourist Facilitation Centre(TFC) and Solid Waste Management(Plant) inaugurated at Kokernag, Anantnag

Press Trust of Kashmir | Anantnag : Secretary to Govt. Tourism Department, Mr. Sarmad Hafeez(IAS) today inaugurated Tourist Facilitation Centre & Solid Waste Management(Plant) at Kokernag.

The centre shall facilitate the tourists with regard to accommodation facilities at Kokernag and other places of tourist interest around Kokernag, a statement here said.

Director Tourism Kashmir Dr. G. N. Itoo(KAS), among others officers were present at the inaugural function.

In his address, While talking with Media Sarmad said that tourism right from Mughal period had remained a main point of attraction for Jammu and Kashmir and “it provides the maximum employment to the people in the state.”

Also, Solid Waste Management(Plant) has been inaugurated at Kokernag. The plant has been set up based on zero waste technology, which would prepare manure from green waste and plastic and other solid wastes would be used for making cement.(PTK).
