Tourism dept organises Manasbal festival
Mansbal holds special place on JK’s tourism map: Sarmad Hafeez

Press Trust of Kashmir | Srinagar:- Tourism department Jammu and Kashmir organised tourism festival in Manasbal in which number of government department participated.
J&K Tourism Secretary Sarmad Hafeez was chief guest on the occasion besides that Director Tourism G N itoo was present on the occasion.
On the occasion, Sarmad Hafeez, said that tourists having visited the place have fond memories of this lake.
He said to celebrate the importance of Manasbal lake and attract the attention of tourists.
Referring to the changed scenario in the tourism sector, Secretary Tourism stressed upon the officers of Tourism Department to hold capacity building programmes for local youth and those engaged with the trade locally so that tourists coming to the place are served better, guided properly and treated professionally when they come to this place.
Saramd Hafeez said that short and long term measures are being taken by the Department to give a flip to the tourism sector that shall change the socio-economic condition of the people.
Later, interacting with local stakeholders, he impressed upon them to take benefit of recently notified Homestay policy and register themselves to get engaged in income generation programmes.
He said home stays are meant to percolate the benefits to grass root level and to benefit the locals through the tourism sector.
Director Tourism G N Itoo told the Press Trust of Kashmir news agency, that government has recommended number of location for promotion and Manasabal is one of the them.
He said that today we organised the manasbal festival by doing different sport activities like water sking , boat and shikara race, tracking activities and slap installed stalls of a number of departments , like umeed NRLM, handicraft etc besides that students of different schools were part of this festival.:-PTK.
