To make youth friendly with security forces, Army organises several competitive programmes in Ganderbal

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR SRINAGAR DEC 23:- In order to make the youth feel connected and friendly with security forces, Army organises several competitive programmes in Ganderbal.

An official said that in compliance to directions of Srinagar Sector Hqr CRPF , 118 Bn . CRPF organized following competitions for students & youths of nearby locality at their headquarter location in Gund ( Distt – Ganderbal ) to mark the celebration of ‘ Jash – e – Chillai Kalam with Singing competition, Painting competition on selected themes and debate on selected topic .

He said that the objective of organizing these competitions for students and local youths was to make the youth feel connected and friendly engaged with Security Forces .

It was also aimed to build an amicable bond of mutual trust and camaraderieship between local public and security forces besides affording a platform for youths to showcase their talent and skill, he said.

The theme of competitions were diligently selected to promote awareness on social issues viz . drug abuse , protecting environment , eradicating ignominious practices of dowry and how to deal with cases of domestic violence against women , among youth, he added.

The competition was organized with adequate zeal & fanfare in which large number of students & local youths participated and prominent people of nearby area witnessed, he said.

He said that students adjudged winners and runner – ups in the selected field of competitions were felicitated by Sh S.S. Yadav , Commandant 118 Bn CRPF by awarding them trophy and certificates .

Other senior Officers of the Unit also marked their presence on the occasion to make it a grand success, he said.
