Three drug peddlers held in Srinagar:- Police
SRINAGAR (PTK):- Police on Monday claimed to have arrested three drug peddlers along with Ghanja and poppy straw in Srinagar district.
Police in a statement said police was conducting Naka checking at Arampora Qamarwari and during checking one Auto bearing registration No.JK01H 8070 coming from Parimpora towards Arampora in which three persons were boarded, on seeing Police party tried to flee from the spot, but was tactfully apprehended.
During checking of the said Auto two polythene bags were recovered in which *2.5 KGS Ghanja and 2.5 KGS of Poppy Straw like substance was recovered, police spokesperson said
During preliminary enquiry they disclosed their identity as Azhar Mohi-ud-Din Bhat
S/O Ghulam Mohi-ud- Din Bhat R/O Firdous Colony Bemina Srinagar, Ajaz Ahmad Khan S/O Habibullah Khan R/O Arampora Qamarwari Srinagar, Khalid Kansa S/O Ghulam Nabi Kansa R/O Bandipora A/P PDD Colony Qamarwari.
Accordingly, the accused persons were arrested & the banned drug/ vehicle involved in commission of crime also seized on spot, police said, adding that probably they were going to sell the said narcotic/ultra banned drugs among the youth in District Srinagar particularly in Bemina and Parimpora area to ruin their lives etc.
On receipt of this information, Case FIR No. 46/2023 U/S 8/15,20,25 and 29 NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station Parimpora and investigation set into motion, he said (PTK)
