Thousands attended funeral prayers of slain Kulgam militant

SRINAGAR, (PTK): Thousands of people today attended funeral prayers of slain Jaish-e-Mohammad militant Rakeeb in Kulgam .

According to an eyewitness, the funeral prayers of slain Jaish-e-Mohammad militant Rakeeb Ahmad Sheikh in Shiganpora village of Kulgam was attended by thousands of people including women and children.

Eyewitnesses said that emotional scenes were seen during the funeral as women were seen wailing and singing song of Islam, Freedom and Rakeeb.

People from different parts of Kulgam district participated in slain Rakeeb’s funeral.

Since the morning , people were seen rushing towards the native village of Rakeeb. Rakeeb was buried in a local graveyar amid pro-Jaish and pro-Zakir Musa slogans.

After Rakeeb was buried, people in huge number visited his residence to express solidarity with his family. His funeral was attended multiple times.

Meanwhile, a complete shutdown is being observed in Kulgam parts. Pertinently, Rakeeb along with his two non-local associates was killed in a gunfight in Turigam village of Kulgam. In this gunfight, a DSP rank officer and a soldier were also killed. (PTK)
