Ten die as cloudburst hits Amarnaath cave, over 40 missing

Srinagar July 08 (PTK) 10 Yatris have died after cloudburst hitted a lower area of Amarnaath Holy cave at Kali Mata near Y Junction on Friday.

Officials said that at least four persons have died so far while several are still missing and few are injured.

They said that injured persons are being airlifted for treatment and rescue operation is going on.

He said that cloudburst occurred at lower cave (Amarnath) at around 05:30 PM while the rescue teams rushed to the spot.

He said that Yatris drowned in wate after the route leading to the cave got washed away after the cloudburst.

He said that soon after the incident Police, ITBP, CRPF, Army,SDRF teams have rushed to the spot and rescue operation is going.

Meanwhile police said that so far 08 persons have died and rescue operation is going on.(PTK)
