” Teachers acting as runners imbibes humiliation for them”:Qayoom Wani
Press Trust of Kashmir | Srinagar: Not with standing the overburden cum humiliation of teachers every now and then Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Forum has urged upon the BOSE Chairperson Veena Pandita to reconsider the strategy of de-centralization of exam material for distribution and collection purposes and to nominate the branch offices of BOSE established across the length and breadth of Jand K for the purpose amid the changed scenario.
In a statement issued here Chairman Civil Society Forum Abdul Qayoom Wani said that deputing the teachers for collection of exam material from BOSE centres and then after conducting exams making means to make them to work as ‘runners’ to deposit the answer sheets at collection centres that in vogue are police stations is a mismanegement practice and needed a review in these changed times when BOSE office- branches have been rendering other exam related assignments satisfactorily. Teachers trade Union leaders and civil society chairman Abdul Qayoom Wani uevisaged upon the BOSE Chairpersons to review the strategy of distribition and collection of exam stuff suggesting vehemently that question papers should be delivered to exam centres by security escorted BOSE officials while as the answer books should be collected from Exam centres by security escorted BOSE teams as was earlier in vogue.
Wani reteriated that teachers were meant for teaching – learning process and evaluation of exam papers and the collection of exam.papers and deposition of answer books at police stations was an interim decision which has lost scope with the changed times.:-PTK.
