Swachhta Pledge Ceremony held by Handwara Police

Handwara, Oct 02 (PTK): Birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi (Gandhi Jayanti), Handwara Police held Swachhta Pledge Ceremony in its jurisdictional Police Stations and police posts to remember the thoughts of Gandhi for a clean and neat nation.

The main function was held at DPL Handwara where Superintendent of Police Dr.G.V. Sundeep Chakravarthy-IPS alongwith other officers and officials took the Swachhta Pledge and as a symbol of Swachta Bharat Abiyaan a cleanliness drive was also initiated. He also stressed upon the officers and officials to keep the surroundings clean.

SP Handwara on the event said that, “A clean India would be the best tribute India could pay to Mahatma Gandhi on his 151 birth anniversary in 2020″.

SP Handwara gave the overview of the swachhta mission launched by PM Narendra Modi and also emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness in and around the surrounding environment where we live starting from our homes. (PTK)
