Sonamarg Gets 2 Feet of Snow, Plains Experience Heavy Rainfall

 

In the past 24 hours, a deluge of rain has drenched the plains of Jammu and Kashmir, while higher altitudes, including the renowned tourist hotspot Gulmarg, have been blanketed with fresh snowfall.

 

According to meteorological officials, Srinagar received 20.5mm of rain, Qazigund 45.4mm, Pahalgam 27.5mm (0.8cms), Kupwara 16.6mm (2 cms of snowfall), Kokernag 30.4mm, Jammu 6.7mm, Banihal 74.4.2mm, Batote 41.9mm, Katra 9.0mm, and Bhaderwah 55.4.0mm. Additionally, Gulmarg, a favored skiing destination, welcomed a substantial accumulation of snow.

– Sonamarg: 2 feet

– Gulmarg: 1.5 Feet

– Doodhparti: 1 foot +

– Peer ki Gali: 3 feet

– Sadhana Pass: 3 feet

– Sinthan Top: 2 feet +

– Gurez Valley: 2 feet

 

This snowfall not only enhances the region’s scenic allure but also augurs well for tourism, particularly for winter sports enthusiasts.
