Social Forestry Division Poonch conducts series of plantation drives

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR POONCH, JULY 29: Social Forestry Division Poonch on Friday conducted a series of plantation cum awareness Drives to celebrate Van Mahotsav-2022.

 The plantation drives were held at District Institute of Education & Training (DIET), Government Higher Secondary School (Boys) Mendhar and Municipal Committee Complex Surankote.

District Development Council Chairperson Poonch, Tazeem Akhter was the Chief Guest at the plantation drive held at DEIT Poonch.

Commanding Officer NCC District Poonch, Principal DIET with staff,   PRIs/ VPPC Chairmen, NCC Cadets, School Children & Locals participated in the event.

As many as 20 tree saplings of different species were planted during the plantation drive. Anti Plastic Polythene drives were also conducted on the occasion. Tree saplings and Publicity material (Pamphlets) were also distributed among the NCC Cadets & other participants.

The Chief Guest, DDC Chairperson Poonch, appealed to local people, members of PRIs, Students and other stakeholders to come forward and participate in plantation drives. A pledge was also taken to keep the motherland, home and surrounding neat, clean and green and to plant more and more trees and to avoid use of polythene.

Similar plantation drives were conducted in the Government Higher Secondary School (Boys) Mendhar and Municipal Committee Complex Surankote.
