Shopian readies for Vibrant Cultural Fiesta; DC reviews preparations for ‘Jashn-e-Hurud.’

SHOPIAN, NOVEMBER 03(PTK): Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Charandeep Singh today chaired a high-level meeting to review and finalize elaborate arrangements for the upcoming celebration of the vibrant “Jashn-e-Hurud” festival, scheduled to be held in the district on 7th November 2026.

Emphasizing the significance of the event, the DC stressed that all arrangements should be robust, well-coordinated and innovative to ensure the festival is a grand success.

All line departments have been directed to install interactive stalls to showcase and display their departmental activities, welfare schemes and achievements.

The Information Department and concerned agencies have been entrusted with organizing vibrant cultural programmes, traditional plays and folk songs to highlight the rich local heritage.

Comprehensive security and traffic arrangements were finalized, with strict directions issued to the police department to ensure smooth management and foolproof security on the occasion.

Since the event marks a major celebration, all district officers and sectoral heads were directed to ensure their active participation to make the event a grand success.

The chair urged all stakeholders to work in tandem to project the rich cultural ethos of the region and make “Jashn-e-Hurud 2026” a memorable event for the public.

ADDC, Dr. Nasir Ahmed Lone, ADC, Dr. Zakir Hussain Faaz, DPO, Mohammed Imran, Additional SP and other district and sectoral offiers were present in the meeting.(PTK)
