She Hope Society for Women Entrepreneurs distributes relief in Gutlibagh, Ganderbal 

Ganderbal 02 MAY (PTK)-She Hope Society for Women Entrepreneurs(SHSFWE) in pursuance of its continuous drive to help poor and needy today distributed 225 foodkits,170 Masks and 200 Sanitizers in the village Gutlibagh, Ganderbal. It is pertinent to mention here that Gutlibagh has been declared a red zone. Risking their lives, the volunteers of SHSFWE went inside the village for doling out relief.
As first May is celebrated as labour day, the focus of distribution were labourers, who have been out of work and suffering ever since the declaration of lockdown by the government.
With sans any income, the non-locals are the hardest hit; the organization didn’t discriminate on the basis of origin and distributed relief among them as well as a humanitarian gesture.
SHSFWE has been working on the frontlines right from the time coronavirus raised its ugly head. From raising awareness against COVID-19 pandemic to doling out relief to poor to ferrying patients to hospitals, the SHSFWE is doing its bit in response to these unprecedented times.
Ever since lockdown was imposed, She Hope Society for Women Entrepreneurs (SHSFWE) right away devised a response mechanism to combat COVID-19 and likely repercussions of lockdown on poor and marginal sections of the society.
As soon the scare of COVID-19 spread across the country, SHSFWE in collaboration with district administration Ganderbal embarked on an awareness drive in District Ganderbal against it.
With lockdown coming into effect, the District administration Ganderbal and SHSFWE together launched an awareness drive kick started by Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal alongside SSP Ganderbal and many other officials.
Six ambulances were pressed into service fitted with loud speakers atop their roofs giving message regarding awareness about preventive measures against COVID-19.
Besides, IEC material (posters) bearing messages about prevention against coronavirus in Urdu were distributed and put up on walls in prominent places to put across the message.
Moreover, masks, sanitizers and personal protection coveralls (PPE) were distributed, mostly police personal and among those fighting on frontlines. Foodkits in large numbers were distributed among poor and needy to survive the current turmoil, which was facilitated by district administration Ganderbal.
Executive Director SHSFWE Mr. Samin Wani has been at the forefront overseeing the response offered by the organization against COVID-19.
SHSFWE is a non-profit, non-political, non-government non-religious organization working in the remote, border and disaster prone areas of Jammu and Kashmir on Physical Rehabilitation, Livelihood, Inclusive Education, Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Public Health, Skill Development for Vulnerable population including people with disabilities since 2001.(PTK)
