Seven more people test positive for COVID-19 in Bandipora, total cases reach 115

Bandipora, April 25(PTK): Bandipora district recorded another major jump in COVID-19 cases on Saturday after seven more persons were tested positive for the coronavirus, taking the total number of cases in the district to 115.
An official said of these seven cases, two are from Gund-Qaiser, five reported from Naidkhai, and Gund-Jahangeer. “Total number of cases in the district now stands at 115 of which 92 are active while 22 patients have recovered so far. A patient has also died due to Covid-19 in Gund-Jahengeer village of Hajin,” he said.
He said that all patients who tested positive for coronavirus today are isolated. Their family members have been moved to the isolation centres, he said.
Authorities have sealed several areas surrounding location of COVID-19 cases or untraced contact cases in Bandipora to prevent the spread of the deadly virus. An official said no movement will be allowed into Red zones of Bandipora.
However locals said that increasing numbers of postive patients have created an atmosphere of panic in entire Bandipora. (PTK)
