Reasi: District Aadhaar Monitoring Committee discusses Action plan for Biometric updating 

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR REASI, DECEMBER 05: To finalize the action plan for 1000 percent saturation of Aadhar cards and mandatory Biometric updating of all age groups, a meeting of District Level Aadhaar Monitoring Committee was held today under the Chairpersonship of Deputy Commissioner, Babila Rakwal,  here in the DC Office Complex.

ADDC, Jyoti Salathia; ACR, Sanjay Badyal; DIO, Rajinder Kr Digra; CEO, representatives of UIDAI and other concerned attended the meeting.

Threadbare deliberations were held on the mechanism to be adopted for Aadhaar saturation in all age groups and mandatory biometric update of children in the district.

The DC took a detailed review of the statistics of Aadhaar saturation process under different age groups and status of Aadhaar Seva Kendras operating in the district Reasi.

The meeting was briefed about the initiatives being taken to cover the age groups of 0-5 years, 5-18 years and above 18 years in the District.

ICDS and Health Department were asked to ensure enrollment of all children in the age group of 0-5 at concerned Anganwadi Centres and immunization centres.

The DC  asked for establishing special Aadhaar enrolment counters in main health institutions of the District including Lal Ded and Paediatric hospitals to ensure Aadhaar registration/enrolment facility for new born babies so that all new born are registered at well time to push the saturation process.

She asked the Officers to submit progress of Aadhaar registrations on a daily basis.

Terming the Aadhaar enrolment a multi-agency process, the DC called upon all the concerned Departments to launch mass awareness campaigns in their jurisdictions to cover all population under Aadhaar enrolment.

The ADG Aadhaar suggested holding awareness programmes and camps to cover the left-out population.

The DC stressed on achieving full coverage of children between 0-5 years and 5 -18 years in a time bound manner. She asked the Officers of ICDS and Education Department to monitor progress in the target population by notifying the schedule of project/school wise camps in coordination with UIDAI.

Earlier, the DC  informed that as many as 37Aadhaar enrolment centres including 25 in SSA(School Education) and 20   in ICDS are presently operational in district Reasi to facilitate citizens to get Aadhaar cards besides update already issued cards.

During the meeting, it was informed that there are approx 341181 residents in the District out of which many of them had not updated their Aadhaar for the last 10 years.

The DC asked for the holding awareness programmes to encourage the residents to update the POL & POA documents and advised all the officers to complete the exercise in a time bound manner.
