Rare surgery performed at GMC Anantnag 

SRINAGAR (PTK):- 29 year young Patient diagnosed as parapharyngeal tumour was operated today in the department of ENT and HNS of GMC Anantnag by Dr Amir and his team.

The Case was evaluated and CT tumour mapping was done with able guidance of Senior Radiologists Dr Owais H Dar and Dr Saika Shafi and with able team of anesthesiologist led by Dr

Anjum Shamin. Specialist ENT doctors operated on young lady and removed 5 cm tumour via transcervical approach with less than 10 ml blood loss. Patient is doing good in post operative period.

Pertinent to mention parapharyngeal tumours are rare, difficult to diagnose and surgical approach is challenging in view of major vessels and nerves around the region of interest.

ENT deaprtment under dynamic leadership of Prof Dr Sajad M Qazi is doing routine and advanced ent n head n neck surgeries routinely now.
