Pulwama Encounter: Two Militants Killed, Operation Ongoing

SRINAGAR : Two militants have been killed in an ongoing encounter in the Nihama area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Monday.

Official sources informed the Press Trust of Kashmir that while the identities of the slain militants are yet to be confirmed, it is believed that a top Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander is trapped at the encounter site.

The operation began when a joint team of police and army personnel launched a nocturnal cordon and search operation in Nihama. As the security forces approached a suspected hideout, the militants opened fire, triggering a gunfight that resulted in the deaths of two militants.
