Protest in Qazigund against attempts to abrogate Article 35 A

Qazigund, Aug 05 (PTK): A Protest demonstration was held on Sunday against attempts to revoke the special status of Jammu and Kashmir.
Trader’s Assocation Qazigund took out a peaceful march here today in presence of Secretary, Of Trade Organization Qazigund, Muzafar Ahmed Wani against the petitions in the Supreme court challenging the validity of Article 35A of the Constitution which grants special status to permanent residents of Jammu and Kashmir.
“We express our concern over the threat to abrogate Article 35A through mischievous scheming,” he said, adding the protest was organised by Trader’s Assocation of Qazigund.
He said that the business community would not shy away from “shedding their blood” for protection of the special status granted to the state.
The protesters marched towards bus stand Qazigund while holding banners that read ‘Interference with Article- 35 A unacceptable’, “Dismiss The Petition Challenge”, and raised slogans against attempts to abrogate Article 35A.
The protesters also extended their support to the shutdown call given by the Joint Resistance Leadership against the move, on Today and Tommoror. (PTK)
