Property of Militant Associate Linked to LeT Seized in Budgam, J&K

The police in Jammu and Kashmir’s Budgam district have taken action by attaching the property of a militant associate associated with the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). The move comes as a result of the associate, Mohammad Ramzan Mir, willfully sheltering and harboring terrorists.

 

Mir, a resident of Rudbugh Magam area in Central Kashmir, is identified as a terror associate or an over ground worker (OGW) of the proscribed terrorist outfit LeT. The police have attached his residential house as part of the ongoing investigation registered under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), the Arms Act, and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

 

During the course of the investigation, it was revealed that the property had been acquired as proceeds of terrorism, falling under the definition of 2(g) of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. Furthermore, the property was knowingly utilized for harboring terrorists, adding another layer to the charges.

 

This action underscores the authorities’ commitment to tackling the support network that aids and abets terrorist activities in the region, aiming to disrupt the infrastructure that facilitates such unlawful endeavors.
