Presence of foreign militants less in north Kashmir,Visits slain cop’s residence in Sopore : Dilbagh Singh

 

Says police got clues about Bandipora attack and are working to identify the involved militants

 

Srinagar,11 Dec (PTK):The Director General of Police (DGP), Dilbagh Singh on Saturday visits the slain cop’s residence in Sopore, who was killed in an militant attack at Bandipora yesterday, and said that presence of foreign militants is very less in north Kashmir, but in the recent infiltrations, some of the militants have infiltrated,some of them have been killed while the remaining will be neutralised soon.

 

According to Press trust of Kashmir(PTK), while talking with reporters at slain cop’s residence in Sopore , Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh said the militants are looking for soft targets in order to create disturbance,however police will continue to work to counter anti-militancy activities in the valley.

 

While replying to a question about yesterday’s Bandipora Attack, he says that police have got the initial clues and we are working to identify the involved militants.

 

He adds that presence of foreign militants is very less in north Kashmir but in the recent infiltrations some of the militants have infiltrated, Some of them have been killed while the remaining will be neutralised soon.

 

The DGP consoled the slain cop’s family at Sopore and expressed his solidarity with the bereaved family, while praying for the eternal peace to the departed soul and assured that every support would be provided to the family of the martyr.

 

The slain cop was killed along with other policeman in a militant attack at Gulshan chowk in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on friday evening.

 

Meanwhile the Director General of Police, Dilbagh Singh was accompanied by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Vijay Kumar, DIG North Kashmir, SP Sopore and other senior police officers of the district.(PTK)
