Police Take Action Against Family for Spreading Misinformation

Srinagar, Sep 06: Srinagar Police have initiated legal action against the family of notorious criminal Noor Mohammad Bhat for allegedly sharing videos containing false allegations and misinformation on social media.

According to a post on X (formerly Twitter), the police said the family members caused disturbances at Nigeen police station and circulated misleading content on social platforms. Noor Mohammad Bhat, who is involved in crimes such as usury, extortion, and kidnapping, has been detained under the Public Safety Act (PSA) due to multiple FIRs lodged against him. His activities pose a significant threat to public order, police added.

The police assured the public that necessary legal action will be taken to prevent the spread of misinformation.
