Police seizes illicit timber in Budgam, accused arrested

Press Trust Of Kashmir Srinagar September 25: Police in Budgam have seized illicit timber and arrested the accused person involved in the commission of crime.

Police Station Beerwah received an information that one person Mohammad Aslam Malik son of Mohammad Sultan Malik resident of Watalpora Beerwah had dumped a huge quantity of illicit timber in his residential house who was waiting for right time to smuggle it to other area. Accordingly, police party of Police Station Beerwah conducted the raid on specific location and 05 logs of illicit timber were recovered from his possession. The accused smuggler has been arrested on the spot and shifted to PS where he remains in custody.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 135/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Beerwah and investigation has been initiated.
