Police raids gambling site in Parimpora Srinagar

Held 16 Gamblers along with nearly 5 Crore of cash

Srinagar, 10 September (PTK) : Acting on specific information Srinagar police arrested 16 gamblers alongwith cash of nearly five crore from them in Parimpora area of Srinagar outskirts on Friday.

An official told that based on reliable inputs, a team of police station Parimpora Launched an operation against gambling and rushed towards the gambling site and arrested 16 gamblers on spot.

“Nearly five crore of cash and playing cards were recovered from the spot”, he adds.

They gamblers were identified as Ashiq Hussain Of Saida Kadal Srinagar, Ali Mohammad Bhat of Gund-Hassi Bhat,
Mohammad Younis Zargar of Hawal Srinagar, Mudasir Ahmad sheikh of Chanapora, Sajad Ahmad Wani of Shopian, Tanveer Ahmed Wani of Shopian, Bashir Ahmad Sheikh of Dalgate, , Mohammad Ramzan of Pulwama, Altaf Ahmad Bhat of Saida Kadal, Firdous Ahmad Sofi of Saida Kadal, Farooq Ahmad Shah of Bohri Kadal, Parvaiz Ahmad Ganai of Ibrahim Colony Bemina, Ghulam Ahmad of Fatai Kadal, Asif Ahmad of Nowgam, Fayaz Ahmad Rather Ahrambagh and Mohammad Shoib Bhat of Bemina Srinagar.

In this regard an FIR 274/2021 under section 13G have been lodged and further investigation is going on.(PTK)
