Police raid in Kangan, recover illicit timber

A large quantity of illicit timber has been siezed by Police Station Kangan in Ganderbal District.

Press Trust of Kashmir | Ganderbal: A large quantity of illicit timber has been siezed by Police Station Kangan in Ganderbal District. An official told the press Trust of Kashmir that An official said than acting on the specific information about a huge quantity of illicit green timber being smuggled ,
on the directions of SSP Ganderbal Shri Suhail Munawar Mir – JKPS,a team of Police Station Kangan led by SHO Police Station Kangan, Inspector Turk Zahoor Khan under the close supervision of SDPO Kangan, Syed Yasir Qadri – JKPS raided the particular spot during the intervening night of 21/22 May and seized large cache of illicit green timber from the possession of one Mohammad Rafiq Bajard S/O Gh Hassan R/O Village Laman, Baba Nagri Kangan.

He said that un this regard Case FIR No. 44/2021, U/S 379 / IPC, 26 / IF ACT has been registered in Police Station Kangan and accused person arrested.

A large quantity of illicit timber has been siezed by Police Station Kangan in Ganderbal District and in this connection one person has been arrested

He said that further investigation is going on and they are checking who else is involved in the illicit smuggling.

General public of Ganderbal has highly appreciated this action of police and appealed them to inform about illegal activities
