Police Observes Thana Diwas In Budgam, Pulwama
December 11(PTK): Police organised Thana Diwas programmes at various police stations and police posts in Budgam and Pulwama districts.
In Budgam, Police observed Thana Diwas across multiple police establishments under the supervision of SSP Budgam, Shri Nikhil Borkar (IPS). The programme was conducted at Police Stations Charar-i-Shareif, Budgam, Beerwah, Magam, and at Police Posts Soibugh, Humhama, Narbal, Hardupanzo, Waterhail, and Mouchwa. The events, chaired by the respective jurisdictional officers, witnessed enthusiastic participation from local residents who raised various policing-related issues and grievances. Officers assured prompt and appropriate action on all genuine concerns.
In Pulwama, Police organised Thana Diwas programmes across the district in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Pulwama. The initiative aimed at strengthening community–police engagement, addressing public grievances, and enhancing awareness about legal rights and available support services. During these events, officers from Pulwama Police and representatives of DLSA Pulwama interacted with locals, listened to various issues raised by community members, and provided on-spot guidance and resolutions. Awareness about free legal aid, dispute resolution mechanisms, and citizen-friendly policing practices was also shared.
Police officers urged the community to extend cooperation in maintaining peace and order, preventing crime, combating drug abuse, and identifying anti-social elements. Participants appreciated the initiative and reaffirmed their support in strengthening community safety and harmony.
Police reiterated its commitment to people-friendly policing and assured the continuation of such outreach programmes for effective service delivery.(PTK)
