Police facilitates coordination meeting with traders & transporters in Budgam

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR July 20: In view of upcoming holy month of Muharram-ul-Haram, police facilitated coordination meeting with traders & transporters in Budgam.

The meeting was chaired by DySP Headquarters Budgam Shri Naeem Wani-JKPS, besides SHO Police Station Budgam and other senior officers also participated.

During the meeting, discussions were held on various security and public issues regarding Muharram arrangements and threadbare discussions were held on various aspects of arrangements including ensuring proper security deployment, traffic management and availability of other amenities related to Police. The chairing officer assured that possible assistance will be provided by Police during the Muharram days.

The participants in the meeting assured their full co-operation to Police and also appreciated the efforts of Police in facilitating such interaction meets where participants express their opinions freely.

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR July 20: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, police have arrested a drug peddler in Awantipora and recovered contraband substance from his possession.

A Police Party of Police Station Pampore at a checkpoint established at Konibal crossing intercepted a person who was moving in suspicious condition. During checking, officers were able to recover 500grms of Charas like substance from his possession. He has been identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Khanday son of Gh Mohd Khanday resident of Mandakpal. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 92/2022 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Pampore and investigation has been initiated.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making continuous efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR July 20: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, police have arrested four drug peddlers in Anantnag and recovered contraband substances from their possession.

A Police party from Police Post Janglat Mandi at a checkpoint established at Bilal Colony Janlatmandi and intercepted three drug peddlers identified as Waseem Ahmad Alie son of Gh Rasool Alie resident of Chaindain Panjan Kulgam, Abid Hussain Peer son of Sheeraj-u-Din Peer resident of Soaf Shali Kokernag and Hussain Ahmad Ganie son of Manzoor Ahmad Ganie resident of Khalhaar Kokernag. During search, 10 grams of Heroin was recovered from their possession.

Moreover, a Police Party from Police Station Srigufwara during naka checking at Achdar Khiram intercepted a person identified as Dilawar Ahmad Khan son of Khan Zaman resident of Achdar Khiram. During search, 5Kgs of Bung Bosa and 400gms of Charas powder concealed in a Nylon bag was recovered from his possession.

All the accused persons have been arrested and shifted to respective police stations where they remain in custody. Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in respective police stations and investigation has been initiated.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
