Police arrests notorious drug peddler in Kupwara; 02Kg Heroin recovered, a case FIR Number 61/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Karnah and investigation has been initiated.

Press Trust of Kashmir | Kupwara : Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested a notorious drug peddler in Kupwara and recovered 02Kgs of Heroin from his possession.

Officers from Police Station Karnah at a checkpoint established at Yariban Hajitra Taad area of Karnah intercepted one suspicious person identified as Naseer Ahmad Sheikh son of Mohammad Ismail Sheikh resident of Hajitra. During checking, officers were able to recover 02Kgs of Heroin from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.

Accordingly, a case FIR Number 61/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Karnah and investigation has been initiated.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.

Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.

June 08: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Budgam Police along with Excise Department destroyed poppy cultivation at Naroo area of district Budgam.

A police party from Police Station Budgam along with officials of Excise Department destroyed poppy cultivation spread over 05 kanals of land at Naroo area of Budgam.

General public of the area have appreciated the action of Police and have urged to continue such drive in nearby areas also.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding cultivation of contrabands in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling & cultivation of contraband substances shall be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against such anti-social elements should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.(PTK).

June 08: Continuing its efforts to curb the outbreak of 2nd wave of Coronavirus, J&K Police have enhanced its efforts to sensitise the masses about controlling the highly contagious Coronavirus. During the last 24hrs, Police have realized fine to the tune of ₹2,05,400/- from 1968 people throughout the Kashmir valley for violating the various guidelines/rules/SOPs regarding Covid-19.

 The special drive against the violators of Covid-19 guidelines/rules continued throughout all the districts of Kashmir Valley to ensure that people adhere to SOPs/guidelines envisaged by government to curb COVID-19 pandemic.

Community members are once again requested to cooperate with the Police in containing the spread of Coronavirus by following the SOPs/ guidelines/protocols for their own safety and for the safety of others.
