Police arrests 18 gamblers from Anantnag & Baramulla; Stake money seized
PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR | ANANTNAG : Acting tough against social crimes, Police have arrested 18 gamblers from Anantnag & Baramulla districts and seized ₹50,070/- stake money from their possession.
In Anantnag, a police party of Police Station Anantnag raided a gambling site at Ashajipora Anantnag following an input about gambling activities and apprehended four gamblers. Officers have seized stake money of ₹2,950/- and playing cards from the gamblers. They have been arrested and shifted to Police Station where they remain in custody. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 288/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in PS Anantnag and investigation has been initiated.

Similarly in Baramulla, Police parties from Police Station Baramulla & Police Station Pattan raided two gambling sites at Chakloo Baramulla & Baliharan Mirgund respectively after following inputs about gambling activities and apprehended 14 gamblers. Officers have seized playing cards and stake money of ₹47,120/- from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to respective Police Stations where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in respective police stations and investigation have been taken up.
Persons found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units..(PTK)
Police arrests drug peddler in Baramulla; Psychotropic substance recovered
PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR |BARAMULLA : Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police in Baramulla have arrested a drug peddler and recovered psychotropic substance from his possession.
Officers from Police Station Baramulla under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla at a checkpoint established at Ushkara Crossing intercepted one person identified as Firdous Ahmad Parray son of Late Ali Mohammad Parray resident of Parray Mohalla Sangri Colony. During checking, officers were able to recover 200 Tramadol Injections from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to Police station where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Baramulla and investigation has been initiated.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace..(PTK)
Kulgam police traces out missing person, reunites him with family
PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR |KULGAM : Police in Kulgam have traced out a mentally unsound person who was missing since 9th of June 2021 and reunited him with his family.
On 09/06/2021, PS Yaripora received a written complaint stating therein that one person namely Fayaz Ahmad Lone son of Sanaullah Lone resident of Badroo (mentally unsound) is missing. Accordingly, a missing report was lodged at PS Yaripora and search was started to trace him.

After strenuous efforts, the missing person was traced out & handed over to his relatives after completion of all legal formalities. Family members of the traced missing person have applauded the efforts by Kulgam police for prompt response in tracing him out..(PTK)

Police seeks public cooperation to mitigate spread of virus
PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR | SRINAGAR : Continuing its efforts to curb the outbreak of 2nd wave of Coronavirus, during the last 24 hours Police have arrested 11 persons, lodged 02 FIRs and also realized fine to the tune of ₹8,41,790/- from 5283 people throughout the Kashmir valley for violating the various guidelines/rules/SOPs regarding Covid-19.
The special drive against the violators of Covid-19 guidelines/rules continued throughout all the districts of Kashmir Valley to ensure that people adhere to SOPs/guidelines envisaged by government to curb COVID-19 pandemic.

Community members are once again requested to cooperate with the Police in containing the spread of Coronavirus by following the SOPs/ guidelines/protocols for their own safety and for the safety of others.
