Police arrests 04 persons and seizes 04 tractors in Budgam

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR SRINAGAR July 31: Acting tough against the elements involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, Police in Budgam have arrested 04 persons and seized 04 tractors involved in the commission of crime.

Officers from Police Station Beerwah during patrolling near Nalla Sukhnag intercepted four tractors loaded with illegally extracted minerals of Nallah Sukhnag. The tractors have been seized and their drivers identified as Nisar Ahmed Malik son of Ali Mohammed Malik, Ajaz Ahmed Sheikh son of Mushtaq Sheikh, both residents of Bhatipora Khag, Gulzar Ahmed Bhat son of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat resident of Sail Beerwah and Nazir Ahmed Mir son of Ghulam Nabi Mir resident of Kundora Beerwah were arrested. They have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 105/2022 under relevant sections of law have been registered in Police Station Beerwah and investigation has been initiated.

Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
