PDP bags chairman, NC gets vice chairman seat in Pulwama

Srinagar: PAGD on Wednesday managed to get chairman seat in DDC chairman councils as PDP bags chairman seat and NC get vice chairman seat in South Kashmir’s Pulwama.

An official said that PDP candidate for chairman seat Syed Bari Andrabi and NC candidate for vice chairman Mukhtar Ahmad Bhand got nine votes while as 4 each went in favour of Javid Rahim Bhat an independent candidate for chairman seat in opposition and Minha Lateef who won on BJP ticket from Kakapora.

Notably, out of 14 DDC seats seven were won by PDP, four by NC and four by others including two independent

It is pertinent to mention here despite winning over 110 DDC seats, PAGD has got so far only their chairman in Kulgam and Pulwama only.

Moreover, Waheed ur Rehman who was arrested by NIA first and later CIK and is yet to take oath didn’t vote.
