Pacification must begin with restoration of statehood to JK: Kadfeen

Srinagar August 8(PTK)Congress leader Kadfeen Choudhary on Saturday termed the restoration of statehood as an important measure towards addressing peoples’ hardships and making Jammu and Kashmir subtly tread the path of normality.

In a statement issued to PTK,  Kadfeen said that it is ironic that such inordinate delay is being done in giving the statehood back to Jammu and Kashmir even when the union  home minister on floor of the parliament declared that the status of UT was going to be a temporary arrangement and that statehood to the people of Jammu and Kashmir will be given back.  “It was ironic that such a vast state with cultural diversity was in one single stroke turned into a Union territory. Government’s such a measure goes beyond the reach of reason. It is high time for the government to realise that in order to pacify things in Jammu and Kashmir, the process should begin with the restoration of statehood. There is no other way,” said Kadfeen.

He added that people all across are facing immense hardships and their day to day grievances are nowhere being heard. The chaos, said Kadfeen, amid the prevalent pandemic is making things worse with each passing day and that it is high time for the government to shun its  proverbial approach. (PTK)
