Outrage Erupts Over Alleged Sexual Harassment at a Prestigious School in Srinagar

Srinagar, August 5, 2024 A disturbing social media post has ignited widespread outrage and concern among the public, revealing a shocking case of alleged sexual harassment at Tyndal-Biscoe School, a prestigious educational institution in the valley.
The post claims that two male students harassed a fellow classmate in a school washroom for three consecutive years, using threats to harm the classmate’s sister, who attends Mallinson Girls’ School. It further alleges that the school responded only by discharging the students involved.
In response to the growing public uproar, the principal of Tyndal-Biscoe stated, “We are aware of the concerns being circulated online regarding an alleged incident involving three children at our school. We are taking this matter very seriously and request that parents and students remain calm and refrain from believing or disseminating unverified information.”
The principal emphasized that the school has a dedicated Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Committee to address such issues with the highest level of care and thoroughness. “Furthermore, we are in the process of filing an FIR against those spreading misinformation,” he added.
The incident has sparked a broader conversation about sexual harassment in schools. The school administration has pledged a comprehensive investigation into the matter and assured the public that any wrongdoing identified will be met with strict consequences.
