Only one J&K Bank branch in Poonch Mandi, people request for more

Poonch Nov 20 (PTK):The only branch of J&K Bank in the Mandi area of Poonch is boon and bane for the residents. With over customers of more than 11 Panchayats and nearby villages, people have to wait for around 3-6 hours in the long line for their turn. Some have even complained for having waited for 3 weeks.

One of the residents of a nearby village said “It is a great difficulty for us. We have to stand in the line till 4 pm and still sometimes our turn does not come. I pay a fare of Rs. 60 to come here. Now think how much loss it is for me to pay this amount of fare for 3 days continuously.”

“There should be other branches too. People of more than 11 Panchayats come here to transact their money. Once I waited for 3 weeks for my turn. Every village should have its own Bank branch and if not possible then this area should have more branches.” the other added.

The Bank customers have requested the Administration for more Bank branches to reduce their difficulty and extra expenses. (PTK)
