One Dead, Two Injured After Bike Plunges into Irrigation Canal in Lar Ganderbal

Ganderbal: A 25-year-old youth was killed and two others injured after the motorbike they were riding skidded off the road and fell into an irrigation canal in the Watlar area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district late Thursday evening.

 

Sources told the Press Trust of Kashmir that the incident occurred near the Maternity Hospital Watlar when a Pulsar bike, bearing registration number JK05M-4769, skidded off the road and plunged into the canal. The accident resulted in injuries to two individuals, while another was reported missing.

 

Upon receiving information about the incident, a rescue operation was promptly launched by local police, the SDRF, the Army, and local residents. Their efforts led to the retrieval of the missing youth’s body early Friday morning.

 

Officials identified the deceased as Aadil Manzoor Shah, 25, son of Manzoor Shah, a resident of Nilla Palpora Patten Baramulla.

 

The injured have been identified as 20-year-old Mufasil and another individual whose details were not immediately available. They were quickly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

 

Meanwhile, police have registered a case regarding the incident, and further investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the accident.
