Old mud houses Heritage In Ganderbal, Man Revives centuries mud house heritage

Press trust of kashmir | Srinagar:- At a time when technology has made life easy in all aspects, a man from Srinagar district has started a mission of building centuries-old mud houses, which were preferred in Kashmir a long time ago.

Situated in Kijpora village of Kangan of the district, the site of mud-buildings, has become an attraction for the locals and tourists.

Rameez Ahmad an owner of Kulube mud houses said that they made these mud houses operational after working on them for around two years.

He said that so far three mud cottage houses have been completed and we focussed on them as traditional life was very simple and tension free.

We just want to provide best possible facilities to our tourists and to remain in touch with our rich heritage, he said.

Kashmiris are also unaware about their culture now and we want to recall them that our culture is rich, he said, adding that, the rooms available in mud houses can accommodate at least four persons with all facilities available.

We are planning to construct more such mud houses so that it can accommodate more and more people, he said.

Tourists on the occasion said that spot is very beautiful as it seems the most beautiful spot in whole kashmir :-PTK
