Non clearance of thousands of GP fund bills in treasuries a deepening crisis at large* *scale
Srinagar, Sep 17(PTK): In a strong press statement , Shah Fayaz President JKECC and Chairman JKTA has stated that the non payment of GP fund bills , medical reimbursement, leave salary etc. besides gratuity bills biting dust in treasuries from months has deteriorated financial postion of employees across J&k to an irreparable extent.
Shah Fayaz had said in unequivocal terms that GPF is hard earned money and a source of savings of an employee which is utilized at crucial times like marriage of kith and kin, education , medical exigency etc and unfortunately when employee does not receive his hard earned money at the time of need then there is no purpose of saving it.
He further elaborated that in addition to this employee are wondering as to where their hard earned money is as no one from govt is taking the onus to explain the reasons behind this mysterious choking of bills.
Shah Fayaz said that even the gratuity , medical reimbursement and leave salary are also not being paid on time.
He further mentioned that till 2019 Central govt GPF 1960 rules were not applicable in JKUT and after reorganization, GPF central rules of 1960 have become directly applicable to the UT , which emphasise that GPF should be disbursed within a period of 15 days of application and in grievous and urgent cases , it should be disbursed in 7 days but
unfortunately this rule is being grossly violated by authorities in JKUT.
Shah Fayaz said that J&K Employees Coordination Committee is preparing for mass agitation regarding the issues as the authorities have failed to streamline this chronic issue despite dozens of assurances to redress the matter. He said that the employees will hit roads and may even go for mass casual leaves if the issue is not resolved with concrete and amicable steps within the shortest span of time. He added that it is hoped that the govt will come to the rescue of thousands of employees to defuse the crisis before the employees take to their legal right to protest in all manners possible.
