No broadband internet facility irks Langate residents

Langate, Mar 10 (PTK): Though broadband internet facilities have reached even the remotest areas in Kashmir valley but the residents of Qalamabad, Mawer Block and Karalgund block are yet to get the much needed internet facility as BSNL authorities continue to turn a blind eye to the rising public outcry in the area.

A legion of complainants from Qalamabad, Mawer block and Karalgund area told Press Trust of Kashmir (PTK) that though landline facilities have been extended to their areas almost a decade back but BSNL authorities overtly and covertly turn a deaf ear to their demand for broadband internet facility.

Saying that the youth of the areas are forced to travel longer distances to reach Handwara and Kupwara to access internet for submitting online application forms for various courses and government jobs, the residents urged Lieutenant Governor Girish Chandra Murmu and Deputy Commissioner Kupwara to intervene into the matter and ensure early installation of broadband internet facility in these areas.
