Nine Unexploded Shells Discovered and Safely Neutralized in Ladakh

 

LEH : A recent discovery of nine unexploded shells in Ladakh prompted swift action, culminating in their safe disposal through a controlled explosion, as confirmed by an official statement.

 

According to the News Agency Press Trust of Kashmir, the presence of these shells at Chulitse Kulum in Kharu was initially reported by Councillor Sonam Thardos to the Sub-divisional Magistrate (SDM).

 

Upon receiving the report, the SDM promptly engaged the Trishul Division of the Army, facilitating the coordinated effort to dispose of the shells. Army engineers, working in conjunction with local law enforcement, ensured the efficient and secure removal of the hazardous materials.

 

Officials underscored the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing such critical matters. The controlled explosion, conducted by army experts, minimized potential risks to the community and environment, highlighting the significance of proactive measures in safeguarding public safety.
