Party leaders pay glowing tributes to Patron Saint of Kashmir

Srinagar, 03 October(PTK): The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Party President, Member of Parliament Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Mr. Omar Abdullah on Sunday greeted people on the auspicious Urs Observance of the Patron Saint of Kashmir Hazrat Sheikh Ul Aalam, Alamdar e Kashmir, Sheikh Nur Ud Din Nurani (Nund Reshi) R.A.

In his message, Dr Farooq greeted the people and prayed that the day increases the prospect of peace, prosperity and communal harmony in the entire region. He said, “Hazrat Sheikh Ul Aalam is the eternal father figure of Kashmiris; his teachings have shaped our cultural milieu and society. He had made peacemaking and reformism his principal mission in his revered life. His universal teachings had a harmonizing influence on our society.”

“He preached universal love, abstinence from worldly pleasures and striving in the way of God by means of serving humankind and protecting flora and fauna. Besides many other things, we are indebted to Nund Reshi (RA) for his enormous contribution to our literature and language. On his Urs observance, I pay my earnest tributes to him and pray that the auspicious day acts as a harbinger of peace and prosperity in J&K, Ladakh,” he added.

In his message, Omar Abdullah also greeted the people on the auspicious eve and prayed for return of healthier times to the world in general and JK in particular. “Hazrat Sheikh Aalam Nund Reshi (RA) was an epitome of devotion, selflessness and austerity. It goes without saying that Reshism has been the singular controlling element that has helped Kashmiri people through the worst of times in every century and decade and withstand the worst of troubles. On the auspicious Urs eve, I pay my glowing tributes to this spiritual father figure of Kashmir and pray to almighty to string out JK from the morass it is in,” he said.

Among other General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Additional General Secretary Dr. Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, Senior leader Abdul Rahim Rather, Party Members of Parliament Muhammad Akbar Lone, Hassnain Masoodi, Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar have also paid glowing tributes to Hazrat Sheikh Ul Aalam (RA) on his annual Urs Observance and prayed for lasting peace, properity and communal harmony in J&K, Ladakh.(PTK).
