Mubarak Gul Appointed Pro-tem Speaker of J&K Assembly

Srinagar, Oct 18 – Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has appointed senior National Conference leader Mubarak Gul as the pro-tem Speaker of the J&K Assembly. Gul, who secured victory from the Eidgah constituency in the recent elections, will administer the oath to newly elected members of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly on October 21 at 2 p.m.

The appointment was made under the powers granted by Section 24 of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act, 2019. Gul will serve as the pro-tem Speaker until a permanent Speaker is elected. This significant ceremony will take place in the Legislative Assembly at Srinagar.
