Months on, installed transformers in Tral, Pulwama lying defunct

 

Pulwama jan, 15(PTK) The residents of Nai Basti in Sofigund area of Aripal in Tral and Takya Mohalla Tahab Pulwama in Southern Kashmir are facing immense hardships due to non availability of electricity in the area.

According to PTK, The residents of Sofigund Tral said that authorities had installed the transformer under some scheme before eight months which is yet to be made functional.

They said transformer was sanctioned after frequent power cuts in the area due to heavy load, but now over eight months have passed and authorities are yet to make it functional.

The existing transformer has heavy load due to which we are facing serious power outrage in the area, they said.

The residents of Takya Mohalla Tahab said that their is no electric facility in their area even after installation of transformer and transmission lines.

According to locals, the transmission lines were installed three months ago but the transformer has not been operational yet.

“We face immense hardships due to non availability of electricity as our children are not able to study well and prepare for exams. Their education is getting affected badly”, locals said.

Residents of Sofigund and Tahab requested authorities to look into the matter and make the transformers functional at an earliest. (PTK)
