MLA Ganderbal assures safe drinking water, visits Bakura, Busserbugh
SRINAGAR, JULY 20 (PTK): NC MLA from Ganderbal constituency Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar alongwith the Engineers of R&B and PHE departments and other officials today visited the Bakura and Busserbugh villages of Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district to solve the problem of Roads and drinking water.
In a statement issued, the MLA Ganderbal reviewed the roads, drinking water and public health facilities in these villages.
During the visit the public apprised MLA about the water shortage, condition of the roads and other problems being faced by them.
Addressing people, Mr Ishfaq said that solving basic problems like drinking water and power were his priority.
“During campaigning of the Assembly elections I had promised that problems like scarcity of drinking water, irrigation facilities and non availability power would be addressed on priority basis”, he recalled and assured that people that he would work assiduously to solve these problems. “Within a stipulated period problem like scarcity of drinking water and irrigation facilities would be solved”, he assured the people and added that he was aware that shortage of potable water and irrigation facilities were the biggest problems in the Bakura and Busserbugh areas, the statement added.
Ishfaq directed the concerned officer’s to formulate a project for the augmentation of water supply scheme so that the problem of water scarcity in these area’s would be solved.
MLA also inspected the various ongoing developmental works in the area. While inspecting the upgradation of sports field and upgradation of the transformers for which he had released funds out of his CDF directed the concerned authorities to ensure that all the works are executed in time bound manner while maintaining the quality.
Later MLA Ganderbal visited the residence of Bashir Ahmad Malla who died yesterday in stone quarry after a pile of stones fell on him at Pattermulla Kondbal.
Mr Ishfaq stayed with the bereaved family and expressed his sympathy with them. He prayed to Almighty Allah for eternal peace to the departed soul beside a place for him in heaven.
The MLA spoke to the grief stricken family and assured all possible help and siad that he will raise the issue’ for compensation and other help with the State Government headed by his Excellency Governor of J&K.
During the visit the MLA gave a patient hearing to the demands and grievances raised by the locals during which he assured to redress them at an earliest, the statement further added. (PTK)
