Miscreants Attack Ambulance Carrying Injured Journalist in Ganderbal

 

Srinagar December 18 (PTK) In a shocking and inhumane incident, miscreants attacked an ambulance carrying seriously injured journalist Wajid Raina and his brother. The two were being transported to SKIMS Soura after being involved in a road accident in the Bonibagh area of Ganderbal.

The incident occurred on 90 Feet Road when the miscreants blocked the ambulance by parking their car, bearing registration number JK01AR-0099, in front of it. They then proceeded to misbehave with the ambulance driver, physically assaulted him, and even attempted to damage the ambulance. The entire act, captured on video and now viral on social media, shows the attackers shouting, abusing, and blocking the ambulance, preventing the injured from receiving urgent medical care.

The Ganderbal Press Association strongly condemned the attack, calling it “unacceptable” and “inhuman.” A fellow journalist commented, “How can someone stop an ambulance carrying a seriously injured patient? This is a shameless and cruel act.”

Police Investigation Underway
Speaking about the incident, SSP Srinagar Mir Imtiyaz Hussain said, “We are investigating the matter and will take swift action against the culprits. They will be apprehended very soon.”Both Wajid Raina and his brother are currently undergoing treatment at SKIMS Soura, where their condition is reported to be stable.

The incident has sparked widespread outrage, with citizens and journalist associations demanding strict action against the miscreants. The act of obstructing an ambulance carrying accident victims has been widely criticized as not only unlawful but also morally reprehensible.

The police are under pressure to act swiftly and ensure justice for the victims while taking steps to prevent such incidents in the future.(PTK)
