Militants escape after brief exchange of firing in Nowgam Shopian

Srinagar, 27 Jan (PTK) : Militants have managed to escape after a brief exchange of firing with government forces in nowgam check area in South Kashmir’s shopian district district.

Official sources told Press Trust Of Kashmir (PTK) that the militants managed to escape after firing, adding that three soldiers sustain injuries during the initial exchange of firing between militants and security forces.

Earlier on a tip off about the presence of militants at Nowgam Check area of Shopian, army’s Rashtriya Rifles (RR), Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) cordoned of the area last evening , the hiding militants there opened indiscriminate fire and with that they managed to escape, forces retaliated and exchange of fire continued for some time.

Searches are on in the area to trace the militants who managed to flee taking advantage of the darkness.(PTK).
