Militant killed in Awantipora encounter, ops on

Press Trust of Kashmir | Srinagar : A militant has been killed in a gunfight between government forces and militants in Charsoo area of Awantipora hamlet in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district, officials said on Tuesday.

An unidentified militant has been killed whose identification is being ascertained while as operation is on in the area, officials said.

They added that a joint team of Police, Army and CRPF launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) on specific information about the presence of militants in the area.

As forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, which was retaliated, triggering a gunfight, they added.:-PTK
