Mayoral polls in SMC, two candidates have filed nomination papers

SRINAGAR JULY (PTK)For Mayoral polls in SMC, so far two candidates have filled forms for seat of Mayor.

Among two candidates, Sheikh imran has filled form for the mayor post.

While talking with media, he said that i am here to fight against corruption and work for the development of the city.

He said that opposition must leave dirty politics and demanded that don’t play politics on elections

The Mayoral elections in the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) will be held on July 14, a notification issued on Wednesday said.

The announcement came 23 days after the erstwhile Mayor Junaid Azim Mattoo lost the floor test and was removed from the post. The corporators had filed no confidence motion against the former Mayor (Junaid Mattoo) following which he failed to prove majority in the special session on June 16.
