Major tragedy averted as 30-35 KG IED recovered in Srinagar

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR SRINAGAR SEP 06:: A major tragedy was averted by recovering 35-35 Kg weighing IED in orchards of Khonmoh area of Central Kashmir’s Srinagar district, police said that on Tuesday.
They said that on specific input about presence of militants, a search operation was started in orchards of Knohmoh.

During search, an IED weighing around 30-35 Kg was recovered which is being destroyed as bomb disposal squad has been called in, they added.
“On a specific input regarding presence of militants in Khanmoh area of Srinagar, a joint ops was launched by Police & 50RR. During search of Orchards area, an IED weighing 30-35Kgs recovered. Bomb disposal squad called on spot. IED is being destroyed in situ,”Kashmir Police Zone tweeted.
