Lieutenant Governor Sinha Warns Against Harboring Terrorists
SRINAGAR, Nov 5: Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, issued a stern warning on Tuesday, asserting that homes of individuals who shelter terrorists will be demolished as part of a zero-tolerance approach toward terrorism. Addressing residents at an event in Baramulla district, Sinha called for unity among security forces, local administration, and citizens to eliminate terrorism within a year.
“I have directed the forces to ensure no innocent is harmed, but the guilty will face strict action. If anyone harbors terrorists, their house will be demolished—there will be no leniency,” he stated. Sinha emphasized that such measures are a matter of justice, not oppression, amidst claims of atrocities by some.
The LG also highlighted the role of local residents in identifying elements causing disruptions at the behest of external forces. He urged people to stand up against these threats, referencing recent tragic incidents, including the murder of a doctor and six laborers at a construction site in Ganderbal district.
“Terrorism will not survive here if the people, the administration, and security forces join hands,” Sinha affirmed. “However, those who turn a blind eye to the violence are complicit.”
His remarks follow a recent spike in terror-related incidents, underscoring the need for collective resistance to bring lasting peace to Jammu and Kashmir.
